Spanish to English

Translate Spanish video to English subtitles

Yes. Upload your Spanish video, choose English, and watch a preview of up to 20 seconds with English subtitles before you pay. You do not need to select Spanish: the spoken language is detected. Buy the full video for $3 or subscribe. The original audio stays, and you get the MP4 plus SRT and TXT files in both languages.

Upload a video in Spanish (Español), choose English, and download it with English subtitles burned in. The Spanish speech is detected, so you do not select it.

What you get back

  • Your video as an MP4 with English subtitles burned into the picture.
  • An English SRT file for players and platforms that take subtitle files.
  • An SRT of the Spanish speech, so you have both sides of the translation.
  • Plain TXT transcripts of both, for notes, articles, or search.

How a Spanish video gets English subtitles

  1. Add your video

Upload an MP4, MOV, AVI, or MKV file, or paste a link from a supported source.

  2. Choose English

You do not select Spanish as the source. The speech is detected and transcribed in the language it was spoken, then translated into English.

  3. Download the result

You get the video with English subtitles burned in. Purchases include SRT and TXT files in Spanish and English.

What the speech recognition has to deal with in Spanish

Spanish on video covers many regional accents, from Mexico and Argentina to Spain and the Caribbean. Fast conversational speech links words together, and the same thing has different words in different countries. The speech recognition writes the Spanish as spoken, and the English translation is made from that transcript.

  • Regional vocabulary can change the meaning: a word that is everyday in Mexico can mean something else in Spain. Check lines that use slang or local terms.
  • Spanish often drops the subject pronoun, so the English has to choose he, she, you or they from context. Check cues where the speaker changes who they talk about.
  • Numbers and prices are easy to mishear in fast speech (cien, ciento, seiscientos). Check every amount, year and phone number.
  • Usted and tú both become "you" in English, so the change in tone between them does not carry over. That is expected.

What to check in the English result

Check names, numbers and regional slang first. Most of the meaning is in those few cues.

Will the original Spanish audio stay?

Yes. Vid Hub adds English subtitles to the picture. It does not dub the video or replace the voice.

Do I get the Spanish transcript as well as the English subtitles?

Yes, when you pay for the video or subscribe. You get SRT and TXT files in Spanish and English next to the MP4 with English subtitles burned in.

Can I fix names or wording before I download?

Yes, on the Pro and Studio plans. You can edit the text and timings in the subtitle editor, trim the clip, and reburn before downloading.
