Vietnamese subtitles

Translate video to Vietnamese with the subtitles built in

Upload a video in any language, pick Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt), and download it with the subtitles burned in. Vietnamese writes syllables as separate units, so lines have more break points and wrap more easily.

What you get back

  • Your video as an MP4 with the Vietnamese subtitles burned into the picture, so they play everywhere without a separate file.
  • A Vietnamese SRT file you can upload wherever soft subtitles are supported.
  • An SRT in the original spoken language, so you have both sides of the translation.
  • Plain TXT transcripts of both, for show notes, blog posts, or search.

How Vietnamese subtitles get made

  1. Add your video

Upload an MP4, MOV, AVI, or MKV file, or paste a link from a supported source.

  2. Choose Vietnamese

The speech is transcribed in whatever language it was spoken, then translated into Vietnamese.

  3. Download the result

You get the video with Vietnamese subtitles burned in, plus SRT and TXT files for both languages.

What is different about Vietnamese subtitles

Vietnamese writes syllables as separate units, so lines have more break points and wrap more easily.

  • Vietnamese stacks a vowel diacritic and a tone mark on the same letter, as in ề, ộ, and ữ. Lines need extra height, and a font missing those combinations drops the tone, which changes the word entirely.
  • Each syllable is written separately with a space, so a multi-syllable word looks like several words. Breaking a line in the middle of one is a real error even though it looks like an ordinary space.
  • Six tones are distinguished only by those marks. Losing them is not cosmetic; it makes the subtitle unreadable.

Formality in Vietnamese

Vietnamese address depends on relative age and role. Translation uses neutral forms that work for a general audience.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get Vietnamese subtitles on a video that is not in Vietnamese?

Yes, that is the normal case. The speech is transcribed in whatever language it was spoken, and the transcript is translated into Vietnamese. You do not have to tell it what the source language is.

Do I get a Vietnamese subtitle file as well as the video?

Yes. Every job returns the video with subtitles burned in, plus SRT and TXT files for both the original language and Vietnamese, so you can reuse the Vietnamese text elsewhere.

Will Latin with tone marks characters render correctly in the video?

Yes. Subtitles are burned into the picture after the text has been shaped and laid out, so what you see in the editor is what ends up in the MP4. Accents and special letters survive the burn-in.

Can I fix the Vietnamese wording before I download?

Yes, on the Pro and Studio plans. You can edit the text and timings in the subtitle editor, trim the clip, and reburn before downloading.
