- Bengali joins consonants into conjunct clusters drawn as a single glyph. Burning subtitles in after the text is shaped keeps those clusters intact instead of splitting them into their parts.
- A horizontal headstroke runs across the top of most letters, and vowel signs attach above, below, and on both sides. Lines need more vertical room than a Latin-script subtitle at the same size.
- Bengali has its own digits, distinct from Western ones. Numbers spoken in the source can land in either form, so they are worth a glance in the editor before you burn in.
